"Creative people are more likely to start their own companies, to be happy in their jobs, to be successful in business. They tend to be resilient, happier, in better moods."-James C. Kaufman, Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Connecticut
I'm a true believer that providing kids with creative opportunities to express themselves fosters growth, education and confidence. Many times I try to create fun learning games and crafts for Baby D to do. When I learned about Kiwi Crate, I was happy to find a fun, creative resource for kids crafts and projects. Kiwi Crate sends a new crate of fun projects and crafts right to your door monthly. Baby D got a chance to test out the "Making Music" Kiwi Crate. This crate came with two crafts-My Xylophone and My Rhythm Bells.
My Xylophone-Kiwi Crate
My Rhythm Bells-Kiwi Crate
The crate contained materials to make a xylophone and rhythm bells, colored pencils to decorate the instruments, a clear instruction book, a pair of scissors, a reward sticker and a sticker book to document all of his Kiwi Crate adventures.
Baby D loves music so he was very excited to work on this project. He even stopped in his tracks to grab the bongos (a.k.a. the Yuban coffee can) to complete his rock band.
Baby D needed a little assistance in making the xylophone, but I didn't mind assisting him at all :) I helped him put the wood sticks through the rubber bands to make the xylophone. He added the round colored note stickers onto the xylophone then added the note stickers to his "composition sheet." Once all the colored note stickers were filled on the composition sheet, I showed him how to follow the colors on the composition sheet to make music with the xylophone.
Kiwi Crate comes equipped with all the essentials you need to complete a project, but also kick starts your child's imagination and creativity. I love that each month there is a new project waiting at our front door! Crafts and projects range from everything from art to science to music. There are even special holiday-themed Kiwi Crates.
