Baby D got the chance to take a visit to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach and had a complete blast learning about marine life. Not only was he fascinated by the colorful fish but he also loved watching the scuba divers feeding the fish lettuce, or in the words of Baby D "fishies eating salad". I loved that they had both indoor and outdoor hands-on exhibits.

The sea lions and seals were popular with the kids. Some kids thought these adorable guys were walruses. I loved hearing all the names the kids called them...sea wions, sea ollers, wallaces, lions etc etc. This specific seal was hamming it up to Baby D. He kept putting his face to the window as if he wanted to play.

Baby D spent a good amount of time at the Watersheds: Pathways to the Pacific exhibit. He kept pressing the button to "make it rain" in the San Pedro Bay model

We can't wait to go back to the Aquarium of the Pacific for the Scarium of the Pacific Halloween event! It's open to the public Oct 26-27, 2013. There will be lots of fun kids activities including a costume contest, creepy coloring contest, face painting, magic shows, underwater pumpkin carving, spooky storytelling, kooky crafts, eerie animals in the Great Hall and more.
